What does Citadel Nutrition’s Tier 1 do?
Made by Citadel, this is an all natural pre workout which has been claimed to promote:
- Energy
- Strength
- Performance
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at Tier 1 to see how effective it really is.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
We wouldn’t recommend it.
With a whopping 300mg of caffeine – this pre workout is already at our limit of recommended caffeine per serving.
Going over may risk side effects.
It’s definitely not a good idea to double up on servings with this one.
What about the ingredients in Citadel’s Tier 1?
A bit on the small side.
With only 4 main ingredients, this pre workout doesn’t cover every base to make it the ultimate performance product.
There are not enough cognitive boosters for focus, and absolutely no vasodilators for muscle pumps.
Not only that, it may also cause side effects.
Take a look here;
Creatine
One of the better nutrients for strength – and there’s a good amount of it here too.
Creatine has been seen to fuel ATP in your body, which is what you use to produce energy.
This helps give you energy boosts and solid strength gains.
Beta Alanine
An amino acid that helps with endurance – but does have its down sides.
Beta Alanine has been seen to buffer acid in your muscles, which helps to promote explosive power and endurance.
However many users have reported side effects when taking Beta Alanine – more on that later.
L-Tyrosine
An anti-stressor which may help you to focus.
L-Tyrosine has been seen to increase levels of dopamine and serotonin in your body while also helping to lower stress levels.
This is good for keeping your mind calm and focused – especially when dealing with stimulants like caffeine.
Caffeine
Arguably the best stimulant on the market.
Caffeine has been seen to promote both energy levels and power output for a workout.
It has even been seen in some cases to promote metabolism.
It’s tried and true – and at 300mg, there’s definitely enough here.
Ingredients Rundown:
On the whole, this isn’t a great nutrient profile from Tier 1.
Mainly because the nutrient profile is so slim and one of the main ingredients (Beta Alanine) can cause side effects.
This could do with more vasodilators for muscle pumps, like Citrulline, and also some cognitive boosters for focus like L-Theanine.
It could’ve been executed better.
Side Effects
The main risk here is the Beta Alanine.
Having been linked to causing Paresthesia – an itching of both the hands and face, this pre workout could make you sessions very distracting.
We speak from experience.
