What does Freak Athletics Pre-Freak do?

Made by Freak Atheltic, this is an all natural pre workout claimed to promote:

  • Strength
  • Focus
  • Pump
  • Energy

But how well does it work?

In this review, we look closer at Pre-Freak to see how effective it actually is.

This is what you need to know:

Can I double scoop it?

No – we wouldn’t advise it.

Our recommended safe limit for caffeine is 300mg per serving.

Doubling up on this pre workout will take you to 400mg – 100mg more than what we deem safe.

Try it at your own risk – but that amount of caffeine isn’t necessary – especially if you’re using something like L-Theanine to get the best out of it.

What about the ingredients in Pre-Freak?

Not that great – it’s a slim nutrient profile.

One of the main problems with Pre-Freak is how fewer nutrients it uses.

There’s only a handful of ingredient here and not all of them are effective, some are under dosed, and some may even cause side effects.

Here’s what you need to know:pre-freak-side-effects

Beta Alanine

A good nutrient when it comes to boosting endurance – however, there are drawbacks.

Beta Alanine has been seen in numerous studies to buffer acid in your muscles to help with endurance and power output.

However, there’s also a risk of side effects – we’ll cover that later on in the side effects section.

Citrulline Malate

One of the better amino acids – but is there enough.

Usually extracted from watermelons, Citrulline is converted into L-Arginine in your kidneys and promotes nitric oxide.

This is a vasodilator that dilates blood vessels and gives you an enormous muscle pump.

However, studies have shown for Citrulline to be effective, you need at least 6000 – 8000mg – a hell of a lot more than what’s in Pre-Freak.

Creatine

One of the better options for increasing strength.

Creatine has been seen to increase ATP in your body. This is what your body uses to supply energy to your muscles.

By fueling ATP, Creatine can help to increase power output and overall endurance.

Caffeine

One of the most reliable stimulants.

Caffeine has been seen in numerous studies to help promote energy and power output.

Not only that, studies have shown that in high amounts it has been seen to increase metabolism and power output.pre-freak-results

Ingredients Rundown:

As you can see, we’re dealing with a pretty slim nutrient profile here – and the sucralose and lime sweeteners don’t do anything to improve your workout.

The Beta Alanine is a side effect risk, the Citrulline is under dosed, the Creatine and the caffeine are the only good options here.

It’s pretty much a glorified caffeine pill.

A lot more could be added to this product to improve it – definitely more Citrulline and some L-Theanine would be a good start.

Some nutrients for mood as well – Rhodiola Rosea would help there.

It needs a lot more work.

Side Effects

Your main concern here has to be the beta alanine.

Although it has been linked to some benefits – many users have reported experiencing paresthesia when supplementing this nutrient.

This is a condition where you experience an itching in both your hands and face.

It’s not harmful – and it does pass after a few hours, but it can be incredibly distracting during your session.

Freak Athletics Pre-Freak Review Conclusion

Overall, this isn’t the best pre workout on the market.

From this review, here’s what you need to know about Pre-Freak;

  • Can’t double serve – Taking two servings at once would equal a dangerous amount of caffeine.
  • Potential Side Effects – Beta Alanine can cause paresthesia.
  • Missing core nutrients – Very slim nutrient profile, and misses essentials for best workouts.

As you can see, it’s not your best option.
