What does Ghost Legend do?
Made by Legend, this is an all natural pre workout claimed to promote:
- Strength
- Energy
- Focus
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look at the facts behind Ghost Legend to see how effective it really is.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
Maybe. But think about it first.
Usually we recommend sticking to 150 – 300mg of caffeine per serving of pre workout.
As Ghost is 165 – 2 scoops would be 330mg – which is entering risky territory.
It’s entirely up to you, but we lean towards not doing it.
What about the ingredients in Ghost Legend?
Not great.
Sure, there are some good choices here, but the main problem are the proprietary blends.
You don’t know how much you’re getting of each ingredient, or how effective it will be overall.
Plus there’s also a side effect risk, take a look at the main ingredients:
Citrulline
An excellent choice.
There are two types of Citrulline in this produce, in Malate, and in L-Citrulline forms.
One thing they have in common – they both get converted into L-Arginine in the liver.
This amino acid promotes your body’s supply of nitric oxide – which is responsible for blood flow.
It dilated your blood vessels and gives you a great pump.
Beta Alanine
An amino acid that is good for endurance but could cause side effects.
Beta Alanine has been linked to buffering the acid in your muscles, which may allow you to train longer.
The setback is, however, that it may cause side effects.
More on that in the next section.
Norvaline
The least important Branch Chain Amino Acid.
It will have minimal effect.
Bacopa Monniera
Not great for workout performance – but good for focus.
Bacopa has been linked to improving focus, learning ability and memory.
This may help you concentrate more in the gym.
Rhodolia Rosea
A herb that has been linked to improving mood.
Rhodiola Rosea has been seen in some studies to help combat depress and promote overall feelings of well-being.
This could help with motivation while training.
Taurine
Used in energy drinks – but doesn’t actually boost energy.
Taurine has been seen to mildly improve blood flow, this may help with nutrient absorption – but not enough for muscle pumps.
Alpha GPC
A brain booster that could help performance.
Alpha GPC isn’t that great for boosting cognition, but some studies have shown that it may help with raising power output.
However it’s not the most reliable choice.
Olive Leaf
Linked to blood flow.
Much like taurine, Olive leaf mildly increases circulation. But it won’t do much for you in the grand scheme of things.
Caffeine
One the better natural stimulants.
We all know caffeine, it’s great for producing energy and power output.
It’s even been seen in some studies to promote fat loss by how it speeds up metabolism. It’s a good choice here.
Rauwscoline
Thought to boost both fat loss and testosterone in men – but does it really?
Although marketed as this, the studies aren’t really there for rauwscoline.
At most it mildly effect weight – but the effects are negligible.
Ingredient Rundown:
On the whole, Ghost Legend has nowhere near the best nutrient profile we’ve seen.
Although it does have some good ingredients like Citrulline, there are cons that seriously outweigh the pros.
There’s the mild side effects with Beta Alanine and the proprietary blends.
This means we don’t know how much of each ingredient in the blend that we’re getting, or how effective it will be overall.
It’s not good.
Side Effects
Your main concern here is the beta alanine.
Many reports have claimed this nutrient sparks a condition known as paresthesia – an itching of the skin and the face.
We’ve had it ourselves – it’s not dangerous. But it is incredibly annoying while training.
