What does Jacked Factory Nitro Surge do?
Manufactured by Jacked Factory, this is an all natural ore workout that has been seen to promote:
- Energy
- Muscle Growth
- Muscle Pumps
- Focus
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at Nitro Surge to see how effective it really is.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
We wouldn’t recommend it.
With 180mg of caffeine per serving, doubling up on Nitro Surge can cause you done serious issues.
Our recommended safe limit is 300mg, we believe most people start to experience side effects after going over that level.
Doubling up on this pre workout would take you to 360mg – 60mg more than what we recommend.
Try it at your own risk.
What about the ingredients in Nitro Surge?
Not that great.
The issue here is with the dosing of several ingredients in the product – it’s too low.
You won’t get the full effects. Not only that several of the ingredients are under dosed, and others may cause side effects.
Here’s what you need to know:
L-Citrulline
One of the better amino acids for muscle pumps.
Citrulline is shown to have a great impact on blood vessel dilation. By being converted into L-Arginine in your kidneys, Citrulline promotes nitric oxide levels which dramatically improves overall blood flow.
But is there enough here?
Studies have shown the optimal dosage for Citrulline is around 6 – 8g – Nitro Surge only has 2g.
This is only a third of the minimum amount. It may not be enough for your needs.
Beta Alanine
A good performance booster – but it may also cause side effects.
By buffering the acid in your muscles, Beta Alanine helps to improve endurance and overall power output.
However it can cause a couple of side effects that are really best avoided.
Betaine
A natural component of Beetroot that is found inside choline – a brain boosting nutrient.
Betaine has been seen to increase water retention in cells and functions similar to Creatine.
It may help improve power.
Caffeine
Arguably the best option as a stimulant.
Caffeine has been seen to improve both energy and power output – not only that, it may even help to improve fat loss by ramping up your metabolism.
L-Theanine
A good amino acid that works with caffeine
L-Theanine is great. It helps promote the depressive (calming) hormones in your body like GABA and serotonin.
This is good for increasing overall calmness and focus. It also compliments the energizing effects of caffeine to give you more control over the stimulating effects.
Hordenine
An unreliable fat burner.
We’re not sure why this nutrient has been used in Nitro Surge, but it doesn’t deliver a great deal of benefits.
Once thought to help improve fat burning, studies have shown that the actual results are mixed and very unreliable.
Bioperine
Essentially black pepper. This can help with overall absorption if the supplement.
It doesn’t actually effect performance.
Ingredients Rundown: On the whole, this is isn’t the best nutrient profile we’ve come across. Many of the ingredients used, are under dosed for their purpose. In some cases, down to a third of the recommended amount. Not only that, some of the ingredients used have been seen to be ineffective. Plus there may even be a side effect risk. It’s not your best option.
Side Effects
The main issue is with the Beta Alanine. It’s been seen to cause paresthesia – an itching in the face and hands.
Although not harmful long-term, this can be incredibly annoying when it comes to working out – and can distract you a lot while training.
