Can I double scoop it?
We definitely recommend against it.
There’s 350mg in one serving of Pulse – doubling that up would take you to 700mg.
Our recommended safe limit is 150 – 300mg, so this pre workout is already pushing it – and may even cause side effects.
Be careful with product, start at a lower dose than advised if you know your body is sensitive to caffeine.
What about the ingredients in Legion Pulse?
It’s a good nutrient profile – there’s just a few issues with side effects.
Some of the ingredients in Legion’s Pulse may cause side effects, due to the product’s dosages and nutrient choices.
It may be a bit too much.
Here’s what you need to know:
One of the better amino acids out there.
Citrulline is all about muscle pumps. By being converted into L-Arginine after absorption, L-Citrulline promotes nitric oxide.
Nitric Oxide dilates your blood vessels and allows a lot more volume to pass through them, so when you’re training you’ll have more of a pump and overall endurance.
There’s a good amount here too. A solid 8g per serving.
Not the best choice – but effective nonetheless.
Seen to buffer the acid in your muscles, Beta Alanine increases overall endurance while training.
Beta Alanine has been linked to causing distracting side effects, which may ruin the overall effectiveness of your sessions

Betaine is again, good for endurance.
Studies have shown using Betaine can help restore electrolytes in your body that have been lost through exercise or exhaustion.
It’ll get you back to feeling energized.
May reduce fatigue and raise sleep quality – however the effects are very minor.
It’s hear as more of a supporting nutrient to Citrulline to regulate urea levels – however it’s rather unnecessary.
A great stimulant for energy – but is it too much.
Caffeine has been seen to promote energy and power output, and in some cases even fat loss.
However, 350mg is a lot of Caffeine and can cause side effects to those who are not use to this high dosage.

One of the better amino acids that may help manage the caffeine.
By raising the depressants in your body without causing fatigue – L-Theanine can help manage the jitters that are associated with the stimulant.
However due to the amount of caffeine – you may still experience side effects.
On the whole, this is a good nutrient profile, but there are a few slip ups here and there.
The main issues are the beta alanine and the caffeine.
In this case, both of them may cause side effects – it may not be your best option as a pre workout if you have a sensitive system.
Plus there hasn’t been much effort put into mental performance. It focuses mostly on pump and energy.
There are 2 ingredients that may give you side effects; the beta alanine and caffeine.
The beta alanine has been linked to causing paresthesia. A condition which creates an itching in both the hands and face.
It’s not dangerous – but it’s incredibly annoying when your training and can distract you from your session.
The caffeine is another one – the L-Theanine will help, but 350mg is a lot.
It may cause jitters, nausea and light headedness – especially if you’re not use to that level of caffeine.
Are there better Pre Workouts out there?
Yes – there definitely are!

On the whole, this is a good pre workout, but it isn’t the best on the market.
From this review, this is what you need to know about Legion Pulse:
- Potential Side Effects – Beta Alanine has been linked to causing side effects.
- Too much caffeine – 350mg per serving is way past our recommended safe limit.
- Needs more focus nutrients – None of the nutrients used primarily support cognition.
It’s not the worst pre workout, but there are better options out there.
