What does LMNITRIX Focus do?
Made by LMNITRIX, this is an all natural pre workout that has been claimed to promote:
- Strength
- Focus
- Energy
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at Focus and find out how good it really is.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
We definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Overall there is 340mg of caffeine in Focus.
Our recommended safe limit is 300mg. It’s already way over.
We’re sure taking a double serving of this would lead to seriously unpleasant experience.
What about the ingredients in LMNITRIX Focus?
They could be a lot better.
There is a side effect risk with this pre workout, but there are some good ingredients in there too.
Although they may be over dosed.
And there are also some not so good ones too.
Here’s what you need to know:
Beta Alanine
Not the best choice on the market.
Although seen to help promote endurance by buffering the acid in your muscles – there is a potential problem with side effects.
We’ll cover more on that later.
Arginine
Another poor choice.
Although thought to help with improving nitric oxide levels – which would promote muscle pumps, there’s a problem.
Although it has been seen to work in studies – it doesn’t work in oral supplementation.
What you need is something like L-Citrulline which is converted into Arginine after being absorbed.
Creatine
Always a good choice.
After being absorbed creatine helps with water retention in your muscles which helps you muster more explosive power.
It’s a great addition to any pre workout.
Agmatine
May help with blood flow, which could help with more nutrient absorption.
It may not have much of an effect though.
L-Histidine
Has been used to treat joint inflammation.
This may be good for overall joint health, but won’t do much for your workout.
Choline
Used to promote focus.
Choline helps with cognition and learning ability. This may help you to concentrate more and focus up while training.
It’s a good choice.
Caffeine
This may be risky.
Usually we love caffeine, it’s a great natural stimulant. It’s good for both energy and metabolism – the only problem is the dosage.
Our recommended limit is 300mg – anything after that and we’ve found side effects are a lot more likely.
There’s 340mg in this product, there’s a good chance things could go wrong.
More on that later.
Ingredients Rundown: On the whole, this isn’t the best nutrient profile out there. There’s only 2 things here that will make a real difference – the Creatine and the caffeine. And the caffeine may very well be over dosed. You also have to consider the Beta Alanine which has been linked to causing side effects. All in all it may be a risky choice.
Side Effects
You’re two main risks here are the Beta Alanine and the caffeine.
Beta Alanine has been seen to cause paresthesia – an itching of both the hands and face.
It’s not harmful, but it can be incredibly distracting while training.
The caffeine on the other hand is way over our recommended safe limit.
At 340mg, you could find yourself experiencing;
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Elevated Heart Risk
- Higher Risk of High Blood Pressure
This is definitely not what you want while training.
Are there better Pre Workouts out there?
