Review Overview – What does Nutrabolics Supernova do?
Self-described as ‘the world’s strongest pre-workout’, Nutrabolic claim that their product SuperNova can:
- Increase Energy
- Enhance Mental Focus
- Improve Pumps
- Boost Strength
But can it really?
We’ve been looking closely at the ingredients behind Supernova and what we found was quite surprising.
There was a mix of both good and bad results, here’s what we found in our review.
Can You Double Scoop it?
No.
This product contains a lot of caffeine as it is (200mg) both us and the manufacture do not recommend you double-dipping.
How are the ingredients in Supernova?
Okay – but there’s room for improvement.
One of the main areas that Supernova makes mistakes with is the ingredients they choose, some work as a pre-workout but only in certain cases with minor results, some are under-dosed, and some are fine.
There’s some real work that needs doing here on the formula.
This is what we think:
The L-Citrulline Malate is well dosed…
Citrulline is great for pumps, and there’s a lot in supernova.
By being converted into Arginine in the liver, Citrulline increases the amount of nitric oxide in the blood which increases your overall pump whilst training.
But the Beta Alanine needs work…
Mainly because you need 2g to see any real results – and that amount is not in this product.
When it’s fully does BA does quite a lot for your workouts, it buffers the acid in your muscles and increases your overall endurance.
The Betaine will be useful…
Well dosed and may help with physical performance. Although the results of the studies have varied. It has seen the best results when combined with creatine – which is not in this product.
But the Dendrobium only seems to help with digestion…
This is Nutrabolic’s way of helping with the absorption of the betaine – It won’t do it that effectively though.
The Theobromine could have some minor effect…
Found in chocolate, a connection between this compound and the increase of nitric oxide in the blood has been found, but it’s not a strong one. With pump from this nutrient being pretty unreliable.
But make sure you’re ready for that caffeine…
Yes. 200mg of pure caffeine packs one hell of a punch and exactly why recommend that you do not double scoop this product.
This will increase your power output and overall energy. Be careful though, 200mg is damn high, and if you’re not used to it, it can lead to side effects.
The Theanine could help here…
One of the main things this nutrient does is reduce anxiety and stress, which will help with the jitters from the high caffeine.
And the Huperzine could keep you focused…
More a nootropic than anything else, this nutrient can lead to an increased focus and more intensity in the gym.
Ingredients Bottom Line
Overall there are a mixture of both good and bad ingredient in this Pre-Workout, some good, some under-dosed, and some irrelevant.
It’s an okay, pre-workout, but it’s not the best we’ve seen by a long shot. The 200mg of caffeine is a worry as well.
There are definitely better options out there.

Are there any side effects?
None have been reported, but you can never be too careful with that caffeine. If you have a low tolerance, it could lead to problems such as jitters, nausea, light headedness and increased heart rate.
Is there anything better out there?
Yes.
We have come across several pre-workouts that (without side effects) help improve:
- Energy
- Power Output
- Focus
- Pump

Supernova Review Conclusion
On the whole this is not the best pre-workout we’ve seen by a long shot.
Although there are some ingredients here that make it effective, there are also a lot more that are under-dosed or aren’t.
Add on to that the risk you take with the high amount of caffeine and it doesn’t seem like a good choice for a pre-workout.
