What does Jacked Up by Wired Nutrition do?
Made by Wired Nutrition, this is an all natural pre workout claimed to promote:
- Energy
- Strength
- Muscle Pumps
- Performance
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at Jacked Up to see how effective it really is.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
We strongly recommend that you do not do that.
With 300mg of caffeine in already, this pre workout could give you serious side effects if you decided to double scoop it including:
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Raised Blood Pressure
- Dizziness
- Jitters
It’s definitely not what you want. Stick to one serving.
What about the ingredients in Wired’s Jacked Up?
They could be better.
The problem with Jacked Up is that several ingredient in this pre workout, don’t contribute to your performance.
They’re ineffective for getting you ‘Jacked Up’.
Not only that some are under-dosed.
Take a look:
Citrulline
One of the better pre workout ingredients out there – but is there enough?
L-Citrulline has been seen to be converted by your kidneys into L-Arginine, which promotes nitric oxide giving amazing muscle pumps.
However, studies have shown that for the best results you need 6 – 8g of the good stuff to see any real effect.
At only 1g you may not notice much difference.
Arginine
Seemingly a good choice – but not really.
L-Arginine does help promote nitric oxide – but there’s a catch.
It isn’t well absorbed when supplemented orally.
That’s why most products used Citrulline to bypass this problem. It won’t have much effect here.
Taurine
Thought to promote energy levels due to its involvement in energy drinks – but this actually isn’t the case.
Studies have shown that taurine may promote blood flow, which could help with nutrient flow – but not much else.
Creatine
One of the better options.
Creatine has been seen in numerous studies to increase strength and overall power output.
This is down to its ability to increase water retention in your muscles.
This will not only make you stronger, but will also make your muscles look bigger too.
Caffeine
Arguably the best natural stimulant.
Caffeine has been seen in endless studies to promote energy levels and power output.
It’s a great addition for anyone looking to hit their gym session hard.
Capsicum
Not a pre workout ingredient – but could help with fat loss.
Capsicum is what gives chili peppers their heat.
It raises your overall core temperature which initiates a cool down process to regulate you.
This is known as thermogenesis and has been seen to promote fat loss due to the extra calories it burns.
Euphorbia Hirta
A herb with anti inflammatory properties.
This won’t aid your workout, but may help prevent joint pain.
Ingredient Rundown: On the whole this isn’t the best you can expect from a Pre Workout in a nutrient profile. Jacked Up makes several mistakes with its nutrients choices, mainly through under dosing certain aspects and including ineffective ingredients in others. It’s a very ‘middle of the road’ supplement and we wouldn’t hold out hope for amazing results.
Side Effects
When it comes to Wired’s Jacked Up, you shouldn’t have an issue with any side effects.
Our only concern would be the 300mg of caffeine as that’s right on our safe limit.
However as long as you don’t double scoop it – you’ll be fine.
