What does Youwiin Sports PR1 do?
Made by Youwiin Sports, this is a natural pre workout claimed to promote:
- Energy
- Muscle Growth
- Muscle Pump
- Focus
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at PR1 to see how effective it really is.
This is what you need to know.
Can I double scoop it?
We wouldn’t say so.
With 250mg of caffeine per serving – to double up on this product, could cause side effects.
Our recommended safe limit is 300mg of caffeine per serving – doubling up would total 500mg.
This could cause nausea, headaches, jitters, increased Heart Rate and more.
Follow the directions as normal, and be careful.
What about the ingredients in PR1?
Not that great.
The main issue here is with the dosages. Although some of the ingredients in PR1 are effective – they have been sold short in certain in areas.
There’s also a proprietary blend – this is when a group of ingredients have had their individual dosages hidden in favor of one larger dose.
This means you don’t know how much you’re getting of each ingredient in the blend, or how effective it will be overall.
Here’s what you need to know:
Beta Alanine
A good amino for endurance and power – although it does have its downsides.
Beta Alanine works by buffering the acid in your muscles which helps increase both energy output and power.
However users have reported several side effects when using this nutrient.
We’ll cover more on this in the side effects
section later on.
Creatine
A better option – and good for power output.
Creatine is good for increasing levels of ATP – which your body uses for energy.
This fuels your muscles and increases overall strength and endurance.
L-Arginine
A poorer option.
L-Arginine is used to increase nitric oxide levels – which dramatically improves blood flow, and by extension muscle pumps.
However, studies have shown when supplemented orally this nutrient isn’t fully absorbed and doesn’t work effectively.
It won’t have any effect in PR1.
L-Citrulline
A better option.
L-Citrulline is the pre cursor to L-Arginine and bypasses the absorption issues.
This allows it to activate in your system as L-Arginine which dramatically helps increase muscle pumps.
However, there’s an issue here with dosage. Studies have shown you need 6000 – 8000mg of Citrulline for it to work – with only 1000mg in this product, you won’t get the full effects.
L-Tyrosine
An anti stressor amino acid.
L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that helps to relax your mind and promote focus.
By reducing your body’s levels of the stress hormone cortisol, you will feel less stressed and distracted, allowing you to focus more on your session.
Caffeine (250mg)
One of the best natural stimulants.
Caffeine is a tried and tested nutrient that helps to boost both energy and power output in the gym.
It has also been seen in some studies to increase metabolism which could also help with fat loss.
It’s a good option and 250mg is a solid amount for some real benefits.
Green Tea
Better for fat loss – and only mildly effective for workouts.
The only way Green Tea may help your workouts is down to the L-Theanine in the herb.
L-Theanine is an amino acid that works synergistically with caffeine to promote calmness during sessions of high energy.
However, the amount of L-Theanine in Green Tea is minimal. There may not be enough for you to notice the difference.
Ingredients Rundown: On the whole – this isn’t the best nutrient profile we’ve seen when it comes to pre workouts. One of the main problems has got to be the dosages. Many of nutrients – especially the Citrulline, are under dosed. Although some effective ingredients are present – but there’s not enough of them to work. Not only that, there’s also a proprietary blend. This means you don’t know how much of each ingredient is in that blend – or how effectively it has been dosed. It’s not a good option. There’s also a risk of side effects with the Beta Alanine.
Side Effects
The main ingredient that you have to worry about here is the Beta Alanine.
Although it has some benefits. The main problem with the Beta Alanine is that it has been seen to cause paresthesia.
This is an itching in both the face and hands. It’s not harmless – but it’s incredibly distracting while training, and can ruin your session.

From this review, here’s what you need to know about PR1:
Can’t double serve – Doubling up on servings may cause side effects due to the caffeine dosage.
- Proprietary Blends – You don’t know how much of each ingredient is being used or how effective it will be.
- Under dosed in places – Some disclosed dosages are too low to be effective.
- Potential Side Effects – Beta Alanine may lead to paresthesia.
As you can see, it’s not your best option.
