What does EFX Sports Training Ground Pre do?
Made by EFX Sports, this pre workout is an all natural supplement claimed to promote:
- Energy
- Focus
- Endurance
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at Training Ground Pre to see how well if really works.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
We don’t recommend it.
Our recommended safe limit for caffeine hovers around d the 300mg mark per serving.
As Training Ground Pre already has 300mg – doubling up would take you to 600mg, which is way over the line.
Not only that, some of the ingredients may cause side effects. Which could double your overall risk.
What about the ingredients in Training Ground Pre?
Some good choices here, but it could be better.
One or two of the ingredients in this product may cause side effects.
Not only that, a few of the others may cause side effects.
It’s not your best option.
Citrulline Malate
One of the better, choices for muscle pumps.
Citrulline Malate is an interesting nutrient – it is converted by your kidneys into L-Arginine which promotes nitric oxide, resulting in increased blood flow and a huge pump.
It’s a complicated process – but it definitely works.
At 6500mg in Training Ground Pre, there’s more than enough here to see effective results.
Trimethylglycine
A component of choline.
This nutrient has been seen to promote learning and focus and can help you to concentrate more in the gym.
However it will not promote physical performance.
Hyrdroxmax Glycerol
May help with muscle pumps – but it’s not your best option.
Options like L-Citrulline have shown to have much better results.
Taurine
An amino acid that is commonly found in energy drinks.
Taurine doesn’t promote energy, but it can help to improve blood flow.
Creatine
One of the better options for strength.
Creatine helps fuel ATP in your body – which produces energy for your muscles.
Supplementing Creatine gives them a huge top up, which gives you a lot more power output.
L-Tyrosine
A good amino acid for handling stress.
L-Tyrosine is an anti-stressor which has been seen to promote feel good hormones like dopamine and serotonin.
This can help to increase mood and motivation.
Beta Alanine
A good choice for energy and endurance, although there are some drawbacks.
By buffering the acid in your muscles, Beta Alanine increases your performance – however it has been seen in some cases to cause side effects.
Agmatine
A good option for blood flood.
Agmatine has been seen to increase overall circulation and nutrient flow.
This may help with absorption, but will do very little when it comes to performance.
Caffeine
Arguably the best nutrient for energy.
A solid natural stimulant, caffeine has been seen to boost energy and power output.
Some studies have even shown it boost overall metabolism – which does have it’s benefits.
Ingredients Rundown: On the whole – this isn’t the best nutrient profile in a pre workout. It has some good options – but you could do better. A few of the ingredients in this product have been shown to have little effect when it comes to improving your workout, while others may cause side effects – and there could be more added for mental performance.
Side Effects
One of the main ingredients you have to worry about here is the beta alanine.
Reports have shown that this amino acid may cause Paresthesia – an itching of the skin in the hands and face.
Although not harmful – it can be very distracting when it comes to your workout.
