What does MuscleTech’s VaporX5 Next Gen do?
Manufactured by MuscleTech, this pre workout is an all natural product that has been designed to:
- Boost Focus
- Increase Energy
- Up Perfomance
- Enhance Pump
- Promote Muscle Buildling
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at the ingredients (and side effects) associated with VaporX5 Next Gen I to see how effective it really is.
This is what we found:
Can I double-scoop it?
We don’t recommend it.
With 190mg of caffeine per serving – the 380mg of 2 servings would be far too much for most people.
For the safest most effective results, we recommend you stay around 150 – 300mg in your pre workout.
This will stop you having side effects – and give you an awesome workout.
What about the ingredients in VaporX5 Next Gen?
Not great.
With a chance of side effects and only 3 effective ingredients – this doesn’t look like your best option.
We’ve run through the main ingredients in this product, and this is what you need to know:
Creatine
Good for strength.
Creatine helps with water retention in your muscles.
This allows you to increase both size and strength, giving you more to use when it comes down to explosive power.
Betaine Anhydrous
Linked to promoting nitric oxide.
Extracted from beetroot, Betaine anhydrous may promote nitric oxide which a vasodilator.
This means it could help maximize your muscle pumps while training.
It’s a good addition.
Beta Alanine
An amino acid that is thought to help promote endurance.
By helping buffer the acid in your muscles, Beta Alanine is good for increasing your length of training time.
However, it has been linked to several side effects.
You’ll find out more in the side effect section afterwards.
Taurine
Good for blood and nutrient flow – but only mildly.
Taurine has been used in energy drinks, and it has been consequently labelled a stimulant.
This is not the case. Taurine promotes mild blood flow.
It may not help with muscle pumps – but it could help VaporX5 Next Gen kick in quicker.
Arginine
A poorer choice.
L-Arginine although seen to work as a vasodilator – doesn’t work when supplemented orally.
It’s too hard to absorb to get the muscle pumps.
A better route is to use citrulline, which is coverted into L-Arginine after absorption.
Hawthorne
Not a pre workout ingredient.
Hawthorne has been seen to help reduce inflammation and may help joint health.
Caffeine
One of the best natural stimulants there is.
Caffeine can improve energy, endurance and overall power output giving you that added edge in the gym.
Choline
Linked to improving focus.
Choline may help with memory and mental performance. This will aid you when it comes to concentration in the gym.
L-Theanine
One of the better amino acids out there.
L-Thenaine works with caffeine to promote calmness during your high energy state.
This allows you to focus more, while still being under the intensive rush of the stimulant.
Yohimbe
A bad choice.
Yohimbe has been linked to appetite suppression – which won’t aid your workout.
Not only that, it’s also been linked to a range of side effects.
Ingredient Run Down:
On the whole, the ingredient profile in MuscleTech’s VaporX5 Next Gen isn’t that great.
The only good ingredients are the creatine, Betaine and caffeine – after that there’s not a lot left for effective choices.
There’s also a risk of side effects with the Yohimbe.
It’s not looking great.
Side Effects
The main nutrient you should be concerned with here is the Yohimbe.
Although just an appetite suppressant, it has been linked to causing anxiety, hypertension and gastrointestinal distress.
Definitely not what you want while working out.
