What does Rhino Revolution 2.0 do?
Manufactured by MuscleSport International, this is an all natural pre workout which is claimed to promote:
- Energy
- Endurance
- Vascularity
But how well does it really work?
In this review, we look closer at Rhino Revolution 2.0 to see how well it really works.
This is what you need to know:
Can I double scoop it?
We definitely don’t recommend it.
Our safe limit for caffeine is 300mg per serving – Rhino Revolution 2.0 has 400mg.
Not only that, numerous ingredients in this product may cause side effects.
Doubling up increases your risk and gives you 800mg of caffeine.
You shouldn’t double up on this product.
What about the ingredients in Rhino Revolution 2.0?
Not that great.
There are one or two good ingredients in this product, but the main issue is the proprietary blend.
You don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting in this product – not only that several of the ingredients in this product may cause side effects.
Here’s what you’re looking at:
Beta Alanine
A good choice for performance – but there are drawbacks.
Beta Alanine has been seen to buffer the acid in your muscles, which may help to increase both endurance and power output.
However, studies have shown that it has also been linked to causing side effects.
More on that later.
Arginine
A poorer choice.
Although studies have shown that Arginine helps to promote blood flow and muscle pumps – it’s a different story when supplemented orally.
Studies have shown when orally supplemented, L-Arginine isn’t absorbed effectively to make a benefit.
Tauric Acid
Essentially taurine.
Another amino acid – however this one has been seen to make a mild difference to circulation and blood flow.
It may help with overall absorption of nutrients.
Choline
One of the better nutrients for focus.
Choline has been seen to promote both learning and focus, while also helping to some extent to lower anxiety.
It’s a nice touch to Rhino Revolution 2.0 adding mental benefits as well as physical ones.
Caffeine
One of the best natural stimulants.
Caffeine has been seen to promote energy, power and even in some cases, metabolism.
The only thing we would say here is the dosage may be a problem – overall, despite the variants, you’re getting 400mg of caffeine overall.
This is 100mg more than our safe limit. It may cause side effects.
Hordenine
More of a fat burner – and not a good one.
Hordenine has been thought to boost fat loss, however studies have shown otherwise.
The effects of hordenine are unreliable, with mixed results.
It may not make that much of a difference.
Citrus Aurantium
A poor addition.
Also known as Bitter Orange Extract, or Synephrine. Citrus Aurantium has been thought to promote fat loss and boost energy.
However, studies have shown that the benefits aren’t that noticeable – not only that, studies have shown that it may even cause side effects.
More on that later.
Yohimbe
An appetite suppressor.
Yohimbe bark helps to curb hunger cravings – however users have reported side effects when using the nutrient.
It’s not your best bet in this pre workout.
Ingredients Bottom Line: The nutrient profile in this pre workout isn’t that effective. Not only are the Beta Alanine, Synephrine, Yohimbe and Caffeine are all linked to causing side effects. Not only that, there are other ingredients in this nutrient profile that have little to no effect. It’s not your best option.
Side Effects
The main ingredients you should be concerned with here are the Citrus Aurantium, Yohimbe, Beta Alanine and he Caffeine.
Citrus Aurantium, especially when mixed with caffeine has been seen to cause:
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Increased Heart Rate
- Risk of High Blood Pressure
- Light Headedness
- And more.
It’s not a great option.
Secondly, the Yohimbe has been seen to cause anxiety, hypertension and gastrointestinal distress.
Thirdly, Beta Alanine has been seen to cause paresthesia – an itching in both hands and face. Although not harmful, it’s a hell of a distraction while training.
Finally the caffeine – as it’s over 100mg our recommended safe limit, caffeine may cause:
- Headaches
- Raised Blood Pressure
- Raised Heart Rate
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- And more
This isn’t a good option either. There’s a lot of risk to Rhino Revolution 2.0 and not a lot of benefits.
